We are delighted to announce that Shed Grounds Maintenance have secured an £80,000 per annum contract with DSFS Ltd to maintain the grounds of Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Since starting the contract, we have completed over £20,000 worth of additional services including road sweeping, extensive hedge-cutting and landscape improvement projects.
Shed bid for the contract through a competitive invitation for tender via the NOECPC dynamic purchasing system and successfully won the contract, proving to deliver the most value for money and delivery of a quality service. The venture represents the biggest ever single-win contract for our business and marks the start of an exciting partnership with one of the largest institutions in our local area.
The Chesterfield Royal Hospital provides care services to patients across North Derbyshire and is one of the area’s largest and most sophisticated hospitals.
The site has extensive grounds and outdoor spaces, including various landscaped areas and multiple internal courtyards, all of which form part of the contracted works.
Shed’s Operations Manager, Craig Clapperton has been working very closely with hospitals Estates Team, ensuring the smooth transition of service supply.
A high priority for the Trust was to start a systemised programme of improvements to the 29 inner courtyards, which had become neglected and overgrown. Most of these are accessed through the main hospital corridors which create interesting challenges for the Shed team!
Substantial progress by the Shed team on site is evident and the regeneration of these areas has created valuable places of respite for patients, visitors, and staff alike to enjoy.
