We are thrilled to announce that Shed Grounds Maintenance has taken home the gold. This week, we were awarded the title of Small Business of the Year at the Enterprising Women Awards, held at the annual gala dinner on October 8th.
The annual Enterprising Women Awards is hosted by the East Midlands Chamber, in celebration of the invaluable contributions that are made by leading business women across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
Apparently, the East Midlands Chamber received their highest ever number of applications for this year’s awards – so we were really up against it!
Nicky Botham, our Company Secretary and Director, was recognised for her passion, hard work, and dedication. She was named as a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year award and Shed Grounds Maintenance was the winner of the Small Business of the Year award.
Nicky expressed her pleasure at the awards being such a successful evening for Shed:
“We were extremely honoured to be finalists in two categories at the Enterprising Women Awards and are truly delighted to be recognised as the Small Business of the Year, kindly sponsored by Unique Window Systems.
“It was inspiring to be in a room of so many leading businesses, and to listen to the achievements of such successful East Midlands enterprises, all run by women. We were genuinely surprised and so proud to win the Small Business of the Year award amongst such incredible other contestants.
“They say that behind every great man there’s a great woman. Well, behind me, there are more fantastic women supporting our business, to ensure that we continuously deliver a great service to our customers.
“I would particularly like to thank Mel Sellors, our Business Administrator for her commitment and support to us over the past 6 years. She always goes above and beyond the call of duty, and Shed wouldn’t be Shed without her.
“2021 has been a fantastic year for us so far, we have been awarded multiple new contracts and have benefitted from an unprecedented amount of additional work from existing clients. So, winning this award caps it off rather nicely!”
